We invite adults with developmental disabilities to be a part of the Self-Advocate Leaders of Denton County. This group of individuals is dedicated to the concept of self-advocacy for all citizens. The group meets monthly on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
The highlight of their year is the annual trip to the Texas Advocates Convention.
Adult Socials and Educational Meetings
The Arc of Denton County coordinates socials and educational meetings for adults with disabilities throughout the year. These events are well attended and eagerly anticipated by all.
Children's Programs
The Arc provides activities for children with disabilities, their families and friends.
Come join us for our spring or fall festival and our annual Christmas party.
Sibling Program
For siblings of children with disabilities, The Arc of Denton County offers sibling programs for children and teens. Through this program, children support each other as they promote the goals of The Arc of Denton County. One of the favorite activities each year for this group is the night spent at camp.
Special Interest Meetings
From time to time, The Arc sponsors meetings with speakers who are experts on subjects of special interest to parents of people with disabilities, as well as professionals.

Community Outreach and Education
The Arc of Denton County holds an annual Awards Banquet to honor outstanding contributors to the community of people with disabilities.
The Arc facilitates the annual awarding of two scholarships for students pursuing undergraduate degree work leading to careers in Special Education.
In addition, events are held to show appreciation for the Special Education departments of local public schools.
